Bio

Hi! I'm Amanda Larson! I am seeking a position as an academic librarian, archivist, cataloger, open education resources specialist, metadata librarian, or technology librarian.

I grew up in Lorain, Ohio and attended Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio, where I studied English and History. While attending Lourdes University, I worked as an Academic Coach and learned that I loved helping people learn how to do research.

After graduating, I attended Eastern Michigan University where I received a Master's degree in Literature. There I learned I loved Medieval and Victorian Literature. While researching for my thesis on Victorian Domestic Handicraft and the Arts and Crafts Movement, I discovered the Victoria and Albert Museum's online collections  which got me thinking that maybe I didn't want to study literature anymore, but rather become an archivist who could handle amazing collections and help researchers discover them.

To pursue my new passion for collecting and arranging things, I moved to Madison, Wisconsin to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Library and Information Science. In the past two years, I've diversified my interests to focus on both archives and libraries. A self-styled library-archives hybrid, I am passionate about technology, open education resources, and metadata.

A self-proclaimed geek who loves steampunk and video games. In my spare time, I hone my post-apocalyptic life skills by knitting, sewing, and canning food.
